Service Description
Bring your class or learning group to The Sandbox Place for a hands-on field trip filled with STEM discovery, sensory exploration, and big, sandy fun! Choose the experience that best fits your students: Guided STEM & Sensory Field Trip — $16/student Blend classroom connections with playful exploration! Students rotate through staff-guided STEM and sensory activities, small-group stations, and open-ended play in our 1,000 sq ft sandbox. Choose from three kid-approved STEM themes—ask our staff about current options—and share your students’ grade levels so we can tailor the activities to your group. Self-Guided Field Trip — $11/student Let curiosity lead the way! Students dig, build, experiment, and explore our sandbox at their own pace, with teachers and chaperones guiding the adventure. This open-play option encourages creativity, teamwork, and discovery without staff-led lessons or prepared STEM activity stations. Booking Policy
Options & Pricing Guided STEM & Sensory: $16/student, including themed activities, small-group stations, and sandbox exploration. Open Play: $11/student for self-directed play; guided activities are not included. Minimum booking: 20 students. Smaller groups: hello@thesandboxplace.com. Booking & Planning Request visits at least two weeks ahead. Share student grade levels, student/adult counts, learning goals, and accommodation needs. Guided activities are tailored to the group, with a flexible wrap-up discussion or open play. Visit times and private-use arrangements must be confirmed in writing. Deposits & Payment A 25% nonrefundable deposit is due within seven business days of invoicing and applies toward your total. Bookings within 14 calendar days require the deposit at booking. Reservations are confirmed after payment and written confirmation. The balance is due at check-in in one group payment. School payment exceptions require advance written approval. Final Attendance Your guaranteed student count is due seven calendar days before your visit; otherwise, the last confirmed count applies. Billing uses the guaranteed count or actual attendance, whichever is greater, with a 20-student minimum unless otherwise approved. Later absences do not reduce charges. Added students require approval. Cancellations & Rescheduling Email all requests. With 14+ calendar days’ notice, transfer your deposit once to an available date within six months. With less notice, 50% of the booking total is due; no-shows owe 100%. Payments already made count toward these charges. For school closures or unsafe travel, notify us before arrival to transfer once without penalty. If we cancel, choose a refund or reschedule. Supervision & Safety Provide one supervising adult per five students. Teachers and approved chaperones attend free and remain responsible for supervision, behavior, and restroom assistance. Required parent/guardian waivers must be completed before participation. No shoes in sandboxes or the toddler area; no running, throwing sand, or adding water. Food and drinks stay in The Sandbar Lounge. Report spills and accidents immediately. Arrival & Lunch Arrive at your confirmed start time; late arrivals do not extend your visit. Lunch is not included. Nearby Orah Brandt Park is an option; groups must arrange their own shelter reservations.
