November FUNdraiser & Storytime
Little Hands, Big Hearts
This November, little hands can make a big difference!
The Sandbox Place is partnering with WeekLee Closet for a month of stories, activities, and opportunities to give back. Join us every Monday in November for storytime in the Sandbox, where each week’s book connects to a giving theme—from keeping neighbors warm to sharing what we have and saying thank you.
Our November storytime themes include:

Heads & Hands: A cozy story inspired by The Mitten by Jan Brett, plus paper mittens children can decorate as “warm wishes” tags for donated hats and gloves.

Cozy Coats: A celebration of warmth and resourcefulness inspired by Joseph Had a Little Overcoat by Simms Taback.

Socks & Snacks: A story about sharing and working together, inspired by Stone Soup.

Thankful Week: A gratitude-themed picture book and thank-you cards for volunteers.

Little Hands, Big Hearts Finale: A celebration of kindness in our own neighborhood, inspired by Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña.

We’ll also have take-home activities for kids to keep the kindness going beyond their visit!
Ways to give

Bring non-perishable food for the donation box at The Sandbox Place.

Donate cold-weather clothing in WeekLee Closet’s donation bin.

Add a monetary donation at checkout at either business. All checkout donations will go to United Way.
